Return to the secret cave

Chapter 1: Just another day on the beach

It was just another ordinary day on the beach or so it would appear to any normal person .But not to 4 kids they knew that beneath the sands lied an ancient secret and a deadly creature that they had barely escaped last month. The unfortunately 2 of the 4 kids had suffered a terrible transformation .Luckily for them the other 2 had restored their humanity and sealed the cave so that the secret of ho-te-rra may remain a secret forever. This brings us to the present........

The kids were just having a nice lay in the sun when the ground shook heavily and a gaping hole began to appear in the ground getting wider and wider all the time everyone began to scream and run around like mad .The kids stared down the Deepening hole and saw a horrifying sight the cave was rising out of the ground towards the kids who moved out of the way just in time.

Just then the huge doors swung inwards and a deep voice rumbled “THE CAVE IS OPEN AND I AM FREE!!!!!!!MUH HAHAHAHAHAHAHA …” All of the kids gulped in unison.

Chapter 2: the beast

To all of the kids hours seemed to go by in mere seconds before they knew what had happened the police had roped off the entire area .the silence seemed to go on forever until Grace spoke up saying “it’s calling us back , should we go back in ?” she whispered .”I think that we should” said Scott looking into the cave as if he was expecting something to jump out and attack him. “Well if we don’t then someone might get hurt” said Adam with an emotion in his voice.
“Yeah “said Scott “us” .

” .So the kids took a step towards the entrance but before the kids could get inside a police officer blocked their path and said “sorry kids you can’t go in there it has been closed off for inspection ….” And before he could say another word his radio sparked into life and a person yelled something distorted that sounded a lot like.”Sir there `s something in here ……..….YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!” came a scream from the radio several sucking sounds and then ……..silence. Even the officer seemed too shocked to say anything else and he just waved the kids away.

The next day, which was Saturday the kids got up early to go out but before they could get out the front door, Adam stopped them before they could leave through the entrance to the hotel, where they had taken residence after their parents had abandoned them .Luckily for them Adam and his family owned a hotel and let them stay for free, for as long as necessary. Back to the present, Scott, grace and Kirsty were all about to leave when Adam called them back saying” hey you should look at the news he said and all 4 of them walked around the reception desk and looked at one of the15 monitors (these were normally used for viewing security but when staff were bored they could change it to their favourite TV channel, which at this point Adam had on the news and what they saw nearly made them faint. The news reporter: Annette curtain was giving the camera its usual talking to, but the kids weren’t interested in what the reporter was saying .something had just caught their eye
There was something in the background that had just moved .it was only for a second, but it was defiantly something familiar.”Quick!”Said Scott “rewind it!” Adam retrieved the keyboard under the desk and fiddled with a knob on the pad and the interview went into reverse all of a sudden he hit the pause button and the image froze “enlarge it ,there “said grace pointing to a bit of the screen .Adam hacked away at the keyboard and small box moved into a corner that grace had mentioned and it enlarged that part of the screen to full size .Adam looked at the fuzzy image and typed away again and the image began to become clearer .what they saw made them all gasp. For in the background was a black shape they new it well for it had tried to kill them over 1 month ago .it had finally escaped and was on the rampage and it was out to get them .

Chapter: 3 the beast and the guardian

The kids just stared at the screen and them at Adam and then at the screen again then back at Adam.”What?” he asked they stared at him some more then at the doors to the hotel and then nodded at him?”... oh” he said “you want me to seal the building … for what?”
“I don’t care “Scott yelled hysterically “so long as it can’t get in here”
“fine “he said reaching for the intercom and spoke into it “this building is under quarantine “almost immediately the two thick glass doors at the entrance sealed shut with a hiss and there were lots of clangs from the windows all over the building and a computer announced “all exits have been sealed, Repeat, all exits have been sealed .The kids were safe for now.” So “yelled Adam above the noise of the quarantine “what do we do ……”he said when he was interrupted by the computers voice announcing “quarantine breached on floor six”
“Floor six….” Adam muttered to himself “oh no!!” he said we have to get out of here, WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF THIS BUILDING!!!!”

Chapter: 4 Trapped

“Why?” asked Kirsty quietly?”Why do we have to leave this building with that thing outside, it’ll rip us to pieces the moment we step outside the door.” Adam looked at her and said unhappily “that’s just the problem though “
“What?” asked Grace Anxiously?
“Well ….”Said Adam” this place was designed to be airtight to prevent viruses from escaping ….and by the looks of it I’d say we have about 15 minutes of air left here.
And there’s another problem I can’t open the doors.”

Chapter: 5 out of the window

“O.k.” said Scott “so what do we do now that we know that we locked in with no chance of escape, we have 15 minutes of air left in this building along with thousands of innocent people. “ All look at Adam who was examining one of the monitors and was typing away at the key pad with ease .on the screen it read in bold red.’Security procedure enabled’ “quick, in the lift “said Adam who had left the desk and was rushing towards a pair of steel doors that opened as Adam approached. “Quickly come on! “Said Adam. And as soon as everyone was in the lift Adam hit the #6 button on the wall and the doors silently slid shut “WHAT ARE YOU DOING !!?”yelled Kirsty as the lift shot up “my plan is that if I’m right then if that thing got in then it can help us get out “ said Adam “ now be quiet unless you want it to hear us .silently the doors opened and everyone stepped out .”Right “whispered Adam “Grace you see if you can find us a way out, Kirsty go get us some rope, Scott go find some lock picking tools and your burglar kit that I gave you for you’re birthday .As for me I’ll keep watch here every one take a radio to keep in touch . Right lets do this then”.
As everyone took a radio from Adam, and rushed off in their separate directions five minutes later everyone’s radios crackled into life and they all heard grace’s voice say guys I’ve found a way out it `s just a huge hole in the wall but there’s fresh air rushing in “everyone stopped and just looked at their radios and went to find adam who was talking to grace and was saying “.. Grace is their any sign to tell me were you are .I know my way around this place like the back of my hand but sometimes I find it hard to know where you are without a sign “
“yes “ said grace “a fire extinguisher” yes that helps “said Adam frantically .all of a sudden grace said “oh Scott’s here … why are you running AHHHHHH!!” she screamed then silence “grace …” said adam softly”grace?”.There was no response then all of a sudden “help “came Scott ` s voice “OPEN THE DOOR!!!”Then came Graces “I CANT THERES A KEYPAD AND I DON’T KNOW THE CODE!!!”Then both of there voices at the same time “ADAM!!!” “Umm” adam picked up his radio and spoke into it “04031…..965!!” as soon as he had finished giving them the code he heard a noise of a door opening. Running footsteps and eventually after some shouts and screams a sound of a door sliding shut with a hiss.
“Guys “Adam” hello?”………Adam waited patiently for a reply but he wasn’t going to get one because as he looked at his radio and on the bottom it read “if you do not get a response then the person(s) you are trying to call is either offline, in a room where the signal is unable to get through or your friend(s) is /are decapitated or dead.”
“Great...” said Adam sighing. As he walked along the corridors of the many hallways of floor number 6 continued down the hall way until he heard the faint sound of screaming coming from the mainframe room and a voice of a man saying “what are you doing up here? You know that no one is allowed up here except researchers!” Adam instinctively sped along to the mainframe room and looked at the keypad and card reader on the door and pushed his ID card through the card reader. There was a faint beep from the keypad as it granted him access. The door slid open with a sound like someone breaking wind, quietly as he could he slid inside where he saw a man dressed in white yelling at Kirsty who seemed angry at him and then he started to yell at her even more so she slapped him round the face and kicked him in the stomach and then with a series of unfortunate kicks to his head and legs and one final punch in the face knocked him out cold. “That’s my friend all right “. Said Adam to himself as Kirsty looked at him smiling “now you know why I take karate lessons “then she looked at the ceiling “all right you two have you found it yet?” suddenly there was a sound of a massive bang of someone hitting something “OW “yelled Scott as his head collided with the side of the air vents and jumped out of them, swiftly followed by Grace and both of them landed lightly on the floor “we found the way out “said Scott but we had to take the air vents to avoid running into that thing …now lets get out of here shall we ?” at last they had finally reached the shattered window and looked out to the ground below and all four of them sighed at the same time Scott then pulled out a long coil of rope and rapped one end around the nearest heavy object which was the metal poking out of the window frame. Then to test it Adam pushed Grace out of the window, screaming she fell to her death. Only to land on a pile of uncle butterbean’s finest silk cushions full of banana pulp. Getting up and covered in pulp Grace smiled and said jump it’s a lot more fun then climbing down “ then Grace’s expression changed to a look of panic and said “ look out it’s right behind you!” she screamed. They all turned round to see that the monster was right behind them and without stopping to think they threw themselves out of the window and into a pile of the banana cushions and they all stood up covered in pulp and looked up at the monster that was looking down at them with blood red eyes and sniffed the air as if searching for the kids unable to find them it roared and stalked off. “Phew “said Adam “that was a close one, come on where going to get it ““get what?” asked Kirsty “The swords of ancients we’re going back into the cave “Adam said shaking at there narrow escape.

Chapter: 6 back into the cave

As the kids ran away from the locked down hotel building thinking about all of the trapped staff and guests, they ran down the marble steps passing the BBC1 news crew who were rushing up the steps to investigate the noise coming from the building. Soon the kids had reached the beach and approached the cave with their hearts racing.”Well “sighed Adam “here we are lets go in” and all of the kids walked into the huge opening and the huge doors closed shut behind them .the moment the light was cut off Adam’s clothes started to glow fluorescently and made a small amount of light and that was just enough to see a little ahead of them . slowly walking forwards they found a puzzle which Scott cracked and the puzzle and the wall turned to water and vanished as soon as they stepped through the wall retuned to normal as they walked further they encountered a huge door that the kids all had to push at to open and they entered a even bigger room with a high ceiling and a decorated floor with a huge hour glass inside a mosaic pentacle on the floor, inside the hour glass sand fell through. It was here that they had opened the hour glass and unleashed the sands and the monster onto themselves. With heavy hearts they carried on through a hole in the wall and walked into another room surrounded by four alters each with a sword placed on top and an amulet inserted in each one showing which element it depicted. “There it is “said Kirsty pointing to the water alter excitedly as Grace ran up the steps to it but as soon as she crossed a boundary line around the alter. BOOM!! There was a flash of light and a huge explosion and Grace was sent flying back off the alter and landed on the floor with a bump. “Hmm “she said looking at the boundary line around the alter and read from ancient symbols “Be the elements assigned to protect those who are worthy of there care, only the master of the element of water may cross this line.” Kirsty looked around and said “all of the alters have the lines on them “then the rest of the kids took it in turn and all sighed together Adam then said “the master of water that could be anyone in the world … unless Kirsty? Do you like swimming?” Kirsty nodded and gasped as she realised what Adam meant and she carefully stepped up to the alter lifted one foot across the boundary line and shaking like mad she put it on the floor of the alter over the boundary line and braced her self to be thrown off, but it never came she opened her eyes surprised and happily went across to the sword which was within reach now she had crossed the line, she went to take the sword when several yells pierced the air and three deep voices yelled “ where are our masters?” Adam ,Scott and Grace all looked at each other and stepped onto what they thought was their own places Scott was on the fire alter, Grace was on wind, Kirsty was on Water and Adam was on the earth alter. All at the same time they reached out and took their sword .From that point as soon as they touched their sword. The air around them became very still and even the unlit torches in their brackets shook as if testing them to see if they were worthy or if they were just cowards and would run away. But they did not they continued to stand there griping their swords with confidence while the chaos around them continued to decrease until it was calm in the chamber again and they found that the swords would now move easily and in fact that there was an small slit in the base that the blade could fit into, which was exactly what they did. And there was a small pop as the amulet from each alter was released and fell into the kids open hands luckily there was some silk thread tied around the back to tie around the neck of the person who wanted to wear it . As soon as they put the amulets on each of the kids passed out and awoke in an entirely different place. Adam awoke inside a grove with lots of trees and grass surrounding him. Kirsty awoke at the bottom of a crystal clear lake she gasped and struggled about until she realised that she could breathe without a hinder from the water around her. Scott awoke in the middle of volcano and he noticed that the heat could not hurt him. Grace awoke in the middle of a cloud she didn’t dare to look over the edge. Adam sat up and looked around the grove and saw a small shrine with what looked like some sort of seal in the middle of it and there was a indentation like something could go into it Adam took off his amulet and placed it in the indentation at the same time the three other kids were doing exactly the same thing and with a bit of luck the amulet fitted there were sounds of a lock opening , the seal swung open and four things shot out at their own individual locations in a place that people call the element realm .

Chapter 7: the element Guardians

As soon as the seal was broken the four elements burst out of their seals, for over the past 1000,000,000,000,000 (really big number) they had been sealed away with the ancients saying to them that they could only travel freely from their sacred prisons, if and only if the persons they were supposed to be protecting would find the cave, find the swords, cross the lines and retrieve the amulet , which was just what the kids had done now with all of the requirements filled they could now travel around with their masters protecting them with their lives if necessary. Adam, Kirsty, grace and Scott were all stunned by what had just happened .they sat up after something had shot out with the amulet there was a flash of light and they had woken up inside the cave again. But this time there was something different about it .the torches were now lit and on each alter instead of the sword there was a statue of each element in its physical form. On the wall was another pile of symbols which when decoded read “The time will come for it must be where the star must receive its blood from thee.” They all looked at the decoded message to make sure they hadn’t made a mistake then ran into the hourglass chamber and looked at the pentacle on the floor the hourglass seemed to be locked into it.” ok”said Grace tartly “so now what?” she looked around in disapproval and she forgot to notice the sharp point of a rock and there was soon blood staining the floor “I think now we know what it meant by the star receiving it’s blood “ said Adam as he took Grace’s bleeding hand and squeezed it so that a few droplets of blood fell into the indentation of the pentacle on the floor and there was a clicking sound as one of the four locks came undone. Soon after lots of bleeding hands and Scott fainting (where the girls had to drag him to the pentacle) all four of the locks had finally been undone and the hourglass was now being pushed into the alter room where it slid into position on another pentacle, where it locked into position again .and sand began to fall out of a hole in the bottom. upon noticing this all of the kids jumped onto the nearest high object but they soon noticed as well that the sand was going up an indent in the alter to the statues of the elements. Where the sand swirled around them and soon the kids noticed another pile of symbols which grace read out “spirits of the elements hear my voice here are your masters awake and do not hinder the way” at those words all of the statues exploded and four different coloured gases shot out : green , yellow , red and blue all of the gases were drawn into their own amulet that felt like home safe at last with their new masters and there they would stay until they had enough strength to return to their physical forms and talk to them , but until then they could speak to them in their dreams .for in dreams we enter a world that is entirely our own.” I don’t think there’s anything else here for us “said Scott “come on lets leave “as they walked out of the chamber they noticed that the doors out of the cave were sealed shut. So they turned back and found another tunnel and trough the tunnel was a room made of glass.

Chapter 8: the spellbound glass

As the kids entered the room torches on the walls burst into flames lighting up the room in an orange glow. Also at the other end of the room was a pair of golden doors and between the kids and those doors was a huge maze of glass and as quick as quick could be they ran through the maze to the golden doors at the end only to find that the door was locked and Adam had disappeared (writers quote: which would be a bit impossible seeing as the maze was made of glass and was easy to see through) .It was just that Adam was behind a green line that had been painted on the ground ,Adam looked up as they approached and they noticed that the line spread along the walls as well Adam looked sad and said to them “I can’t cross this line “ and as he said that the wall next to him moved aside making another way around , and after several people getting locked in chambers and cursed lines preventing them from passing an easy route they eventually managed to reach the doors together and then Adam pulled out a odd looking key and inserted it in to the key hole, the key turned and the doors opened “Adam “asked Kirsty “ where did you get that key from?” Adam replied “it was in a hole underneath the hourglass when we moved it I thought we might need it later “and with they preceded the next room that was filled with gold, there was literally gold on every surface including a few coins on the floor. But they were not interested in this because they could see something watching them if they were to take the gold. At the end of the `hall of greed` was a small door when they opened it they found that they could see a solid metal door Adam happily slid his ID card in a slot and the door slid open and they stepped out into the basement of the hotel. Where expansion work was under way …

Chapter 9: The great storm

When they climbed out of the basement and walked into the staff room they were greeted by several loud yells of “hold it shut!”
“The doors can’t take it!”
“Are those the kids?”
“That fiend’s too strong!”
“Are those the kids?”
“Get the table!”
“Are those the kids though?”
“What?”
“Those are the kids though “
“He’s right they are the kids” said a nurse who ran over to hug them all.
“Karen “said Adam whilst being hugged by her tightly. After what seemed to be a long time the nurse finally let go of them and ran to help the rest of the staff (all dressed in a dark shade of purple, like Adam and glowed fluorescently when in the dark, this was so people did not crash into them in at night) but it was too late the doors flew open and the hideous fiend stalked into the staff room. When it saw the amulets how ever it looked even more enraged and there was even a hint of fear in its eyes. “GET OUT!!!” roared Adam and the fiend suddenly turned and ran out of the room Adam looked astonished and their was a sound of breaking glass a woman screaming and someone saying “Annette wake up! You fainted” Adam rolled his eyes at least now the front doors were open, but what, made it run away? He certainty couldn’t remember saying anything to it. Suddenly the Adam, Kirsty, Scott and Grace all yawned it had been a long day and they were all tired. So it was off to the 5th floor for Kirsty, Scott and Grace and Adam proceeded to the hidden 21st floor otherwise known as the staff floor for a well deserved rest. During the night all four of the kids had weird dreams of which they remembered hardly anything of it the next morning. The next day all the kids were at the dining staff dining hall (now that Adam had entered them into the computer and given them their own lift keys.) which was very luxurious. Suddenly a nutty parrot flew in through the open window and sang:
“Come to me and be seduced
I have a girl to introduce
Fall for her you know you want to
Trust me mister
She’s my sister”
Adam then proceeded to hit it over the head with a tennis racket in the corner and gave chase out onto the balcony. Then walking back in murmuring that the hotel would be on the news tomorrow and that it would not do well for the business and hiding something on the top floor, also that a parrot had a camera on it .then he sat back on the luxurious chairs and ate breakfast occasionally stopping to talk about the odd rush of dreams they had last night and how it felt like something was desperate to get inside their head and trying to change the scenery to something else entirely but their was also a sort of presence of an incredibly powerful spirit yet it seemed harmless at the same time. This was of course whilst trying not to be hit by the boom microphone that had been hoisted in through the window. Also Adam had been smart enough to choose the loudest room in the building where there was a very small chance of their conversation being overheard and the chance was still very small with it being caught on the boom microphone. “So said Adam, clearing away his plate and walking through the front door to the staff room that slid shut behind him and ended them in a steel room with a finger and palm print analyser and at the other end of the room was a pair of steel elevator doors which opened as Adam approached and all of the kids stepped inside and Scott pushed the G button the elevator then shot down to the ground floor and the doors opened silently .and they walked out of the lift and into the main lobby where they were greeted with a gust of a wind and half the carpet was flooded and there was water lapping at the front door where the glass doors usually would have closed but since they had been knocked out the previous day and new doors would not be arriving until Wednesday at least, Adam quickly ordered staff to start drying the carpet just as Annette Curtain and her news crew entered looking soaked Adam then made a deal with them , that if they deleted the story then they would be allowed in and given fresh clothes and a room for the night , leaving Annette gritting her teeth and the rest of the crew smiling at the fact of being out of the rain, Adam also said that if they dared print a bad story about the hotel then Adam would have to tell the press they had living in room 230 about her and that deep interview with that famous pop star . Annette looked furious and she eventually gave in.

Chapter 10: trouble in the transit.
The day after the great storm, came the not-so-great transit problems seeing as the hotel used its upper basement as a subway for guests coming and going about and if they needed somewhere to stay then they could just pop upstairs and pay for a book in and a room for the night which would be helpful for really busy people. But after every great storm there would be a problem with flooding and burst water pipes and other problems such as power cut outs which Adam all had to deal with by getting mechanics down there to sort them out before they got to serious. Adam hit the intercom button “Mechanic staff to upper basement please” he then switched off the intercom and said sorry “I have to go, be back soon “ Adam then walked into the lift and pushed the U.B. button the lift doors slid shut and the lift went down to the bottom floor of the hotel , the transit system and as the doors opened as Adam had suspected as water rushed into the lift up to his waist ,he sighed , the basement had flooded again …meanwhile Kirsty was looking to see if she could find the basement button in the lift while Grace and Scott kept watch , in the end her search proved fruitless until she noticed another button above the 21st one it was labelled ATTIC she thought it was strange that a hotel should have an attic at all . So Kirsty inserted her key to find that it didn’t fit .then stepping out of the lift, angry, she jumped behind the reception desk and searched in the cupboards for the key, she finally found it right at the back on a hook labelled ATTIC KEY she then took it and inserted it into the key hole the key turned and the doors shut just as Grace and Scott dived inside. The lift then went even higher then before then the lift stopped and the doors slid open to reveal an antechamber in which was a small green force field barring entry and right next to the force field was a keypad for entering the pass code. “Great” said Adam as he looked at the flooded transit trains and the sad faces of the people inside them as they had to stand on the seats to avoid getting wet. The lift doors next to Adam slid open and 15 mechanics stepped out of the lift and walked over to the breaker room which they switched off the breakers and all of the power in the building. Suddenly the lights went out and the force field also went offline while the building lost all power. Grace, Kirsty and Scott took the opportunity while it was there and they used it to get further into the building and into a room where it was almost pitch black had it not been for a small torch that Scott kept with him, when he turned the torch on he saw that the room was…”…a total mess” said Adam unhappily “do you realise how many people are in the middle of watching a film or something?, how about 75% of the people in the building !!” Adam was yelling at the mechanics as the lights went out. Soon they were able to activate the drainage pumps and the water level decreased until there was nothing left “ switch the power back on then” said Adam and one of the staff went over and pushed the switch back into place and the lights calmly came back on. “What on earth happened here?” said Scott as they saw a trashed lab and containment cubes in which monsters were being held some of them were still alive and there was worse news to come the lights had just came back on and so had the force field . Adam was furious, about losing all the valuable customers who were not happy after being kept standing on their seats with a lot of water surrounding them and after the water had left and so had the trains a few of the guests had left with them but a few Adam had been able to convince to stay on the account that Billie Piper was coming to spend a few weeks there soon. Adam entered the reception desk to notice 3 things 1: The cupboards were open, 2: the attic key was gone and 3: so had Grace, Scott and Kirsty. Yelling and snatching his skeleton key off the desk he got in the lift and chased after them.

Chapter 11: spirits revived
When the lights had finally come back on and force field had come back on then Scott rushed to it desperately trying every four digit code he could think of, but after 15 tries the system locked him out bringing down a solid metal door on the force field and withdrawing the keypad into the wall and sealing it off. At the same moment the lift had arrived and Adam saw the safety door come sliding into position blocking the room from view, Adam instinctively switched on the viewing monitor to see what was going on in the room. After the door had sealed them off Grace was looking around at the room Kirsty was peering at the containment cubes and Scott was trying to persuade the door to open by trying to pry it open but the door was sealed air tight . Suddenly the computer announced that the pressure in the cubes had gone crazy and that in order for it to be restored the cubes must first be opened up. At this note a door to the far right of the safety door slid open. But the Fiend inside was dead and had been for some time. Adam was desperate to open the shutter by now but the keypad on his side of the door was broken and the door was far too heavy for Adam to lift on his own, panicking he watched on the monitor as another door slid open the fiend inside it was also dead and Adam knew it would not be long before a live fiend or a deadly virus escaped and killed them all. Just then Adam blacked out and at the same time so did Scott, Kirsty and Grace, when they awoke they were on the same places they were when they first blacked out in the cave but this time there was something there that wasn’t there before there was what appeared to be a fiend sitting just inside the walls of the safe and it was looking straight at them. As they got off the floor the fiends got off the safe and walked towards them. The kids fell over in their haste to get away, they had heard of stories of mythical fiends that could swallow kids in the blink of eye and this defiantly seemed like a mythical fiend. As the kids continued to be chased into a corner by the creatures the kids suddenly crashed into a wall, which resulted in a chorus of Ow from all of them as the fiends bared down upon them they shut their eyes ready to be eaten at any moment, but that moment never came because they heard a voice and opened their eyes and saw that the fiends were speaking to them in a ancient language which none of them understood then they spoke again in perfect English and they said in Adam's case “ I am the Earth spirit and when you return to reality I will be right next to you and you will need to hurry the rest of your friends are in danger and need your help desperately or they will not make it out of the labs “ and with that the light around the area began to increase until they had to shut their eyes in order to avoid blindness and they also heard a few more words “ there is no need to fear us we are not going to hurt you…” with when they opened their eyes they were back in the labs lying on the floor with their own element spirits looking down at them. The kids climbed up off the floor and they were still on both sides of the door but now they had the element spirits with them so now there was a very slim chance of them making it out of there alive . As they got up off the floor another door opened and a live fiend walked out of the cube searching for prey. Mean while Adam was desperately trying to fix the keypad but it was just too complicated until he noticed the earth spirit was investigating the door and it reached down and lifted the door up easily with one hand as if it weighed no more than a feather. It then grinned at Adam as he rushed over to hit a red button on the wall which deactivated the force field and opened the door to the labs. Revealing Scott, Kirsty and grace all backing into Adam which sent him crashing to the floor “what on earth is going on back there?!!”Yelled Adam above the computer said as it noticed the fiends pouring out “BIO CONTAMINATE LEVEL 3 SHUTERS WILL CLOSE ALL STAFF EVACUTATE THE CONTAMINATED AREA NOW “Adam, Kirsty, grace and Scott ran out of the labs making it just past the shutters before they sealed off completely. They climbed into the lift (the spirits dissolving into a gas that was absorbed into the amulets) and went back down to the lobby they were safe for now.
When the lift arrived on the ground floor they noticed that Adam's parents were there and they were looking mad “ WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU THINK YOU KIDS WERE DOING WE TOLD YOU ADAM TO NEVER TAKE GUESTS OR GO TO THE ATTIC YOURSELF IT IS OFF LIMITS !!!!” they both yelled in synch with each other and leaving Adam with a headache and very annoyed . he ran off to the beach and nearly collided with his little sister who was also wearing violet and looking up at him with a smile, she then pushed past him and over to Adams parents where she faked tears and pointed at Adam “great “he moaned “now I’m getting the blame for something I didn’t do at all “and stalked out of the front doors which were being newly fitted by several mechanics. When they eventually arrived on the beach and saw the cave and sighed there was no point going back in there they had been everywhere there was and there also was a chance of running into that fiend again. So they just lounged around on the beach for a bit before they returned home at 10 pm where they had finished fitting the doors and they were already shut but Adam had the key to open it. All the doors in the hotel were in night time and were completely silent so when the front doors opened they made a quiet slithery sound that did not wake the night guard who had fallen asleep. Adam quietly sneaked behind the desk and flicked a switch that shut the front doors again. Quietly they got in the lift and went off to there own separate beds. To think about what they were going to do tomorrow

Chapter 12: things to come
When the kids awoke they found several things
1: their rooms were trashed
2: the door was wide open
3: their amulets were gone
All of these things meant that they had been burgled and with that they rushed down the stairwell, seeing as the lifts were busy, and when they arrived they found four people lying just near the doors and the doors had blood on them and another thing they noticed was that they were the 4 thugs they had seen lounging outside the hotel when they returned and they seemed to be pretty interested in the amulets that they were wearing and what made all the pieces fit was the fact that they were now holding the amulets in there hands which one was frozen solid ,one was practically liquid ,one had turned to stone ,and one was almost completely burnt. With one swift motion the kids each picked up their own amulets and it felt like part of them had been brought back as the telepathic connection was restored and at the same time all 4 of the kids asked the same question. <What did you do to them?> only to be replied with the exact same answer <we punished them> came the reply. The kids ran to the quietest part of the hotel and looking frightened at the amulets that they were holding in their hands. Looking around the room Scott said “its O.K. you can come out now “and with that 4 gases shot out and into solid forms.”Why is there blood on the door? What did you do to those kids? Are they still alive? did you kill them?” came Adams round of quick fire questions until the earth spirit calmly put his hand over Adams mouth to stop the endless flow of questions. Calmly the spirit replied “they are still alive and the blood was when one of them collided with the front door out of shock also…..” the spirit stopped suddenly as they heard footsteps approaching and a voice saying “kids, I’m afraid we’re going to need those amulets that you took to use as evidence against the thieves” Panicking the kids started to think of what they could do only to be told by the elements that they could assume a different shape for a while but they didn't think it would be long enough for them to get to a safe place . It was then when they told them that they could also hide in their shadows which they all agreed was a good idea so with the spirits diving into the shadows the kids walked out of the room and handed the amulets to the police officer who with a smile to the kids walked off.<what now ?>moaned the water spirit as they walked down the 3rd floor corridor in eager to find something to do with what remained of the day “ we cant go and have a good time today we have to go to school…”said Adam unhappily as they were shoved out of the way by Adam's sister who was moaning about wearing a chequered dress to school. She was also very precise in stepping on all of the kid’s toes as she left for school. Leaving all 4 of the kids running for the bus before it left. When they arrived there was a lot of noise and commotion and confusion. All of which the teachers were trying to keep from happening and sort the children into there forms. Soon after the sorting out they found themselves split into 2 different forms: Adam and Grace in one and Scott and Kirsty in another. Soon during lunch Adam and Scott met up with there friends Connor and Philip only to discover that a new person had been added to their group a weird looking boy with a gay look on his face and he did not take kindly to Adam and Scott coming along. “Go away” he said in a snobbish voice leaving Connor and Philip laughing. Soon the new boy (called ANTHONY (in capitals for unknown purpose)) joined in to the laughter with great snorts of laughter that sounded like someone beating up a pig which was on helium. After he had finished laughing he looked more seriously and said firmly “no seriously go away” and to Adam and Scott’s horror they saw Connor agree with him, Philip on the other hand was not so sure about abandoning his friends so instead he walked away from them an towards Adam and Scott only to be grabbed around the collar by Anthony and dragged him back “come on" he whined “lets not hang around with those people Philip” this only enraged both the kids and they were already angry at being insulted so they crashed head first into Anthony and brought him to the ground here he let go of Philip who got up and walked over to Scott and Adam who welcomed him over and walked away from a moaning Anthony and a laughing Connor as Philip walked off not looking back as they walked into a empty classroom to discus what had happened over the cause of the holiday. “nothing in particular” said Philip what about you?” Scott looked at Adam and he shut his eyes and thought about telling Philip “oh yeah our holiday has been great we have been attacked by a fiend explored a dusty old cave discovered a old lab on the top floor of the hotel and we also found some god knows how old spirits who are at the moment hiding in our shadows” or maybe not he opened his eyes “ it was alright” he said said to Adam who replied, <ok, just for the moment though> and with that they continued to listen to Philip’s tail of how his holiday went and how he and Connor met Anthony and how he managed to persuade Connor to not like Adam or Scott. But yet he failed to convert him as well. A few hours later school was over and they cautiously walked onto the connection bridge to the cliff that also helped the stilts hold the school up and stop it from crashing down into the sea below. As they walked across, the bridge gave a sudden lurch, this was normal in the case of the bridge and school but it had never lurched this much before next there was a very loud cracking sound as if something was snapping in half and they looked across in shock to see that the bridge was starting to become detached from the cliff. Soon the bridge and the school were being held up by nothing but slim metal stilts and they were very flimsy and a few were already starting to bend and snap And there were still 100’s of students still either on the tilting bridge or in the school and they were all screaming because it was almost certain that they were going to fall into the sea and die. The falling of the school seemed imminent and as the screaming students hung on to what ever they could find they were all thinking `we’re all going to die ` just then as the School gave another vigorous lurch Adam was Tossed over the side and grabbed hold of the bridge “help!” he yelled then he heard a voice in his head< who needs help?> Adam then realised who it was and quickly replied < I need help now seeing as you were imprisoned to protect me> there was silence for a while and then the earth spirit replied < fair point > and with that the earth spirit poured out of Adam s shadow and it reformed itself on one of the stilts. Just then Adam let go of the bridge and fell down where part of the cliff suddenly shot out of the side and Adam landed on it with crash “oof” he said as he had the wind knocked out of him but he had survived the fall at least.<the building is still falling down though and there is no way that you will be able to hold all those stilts in place and fix the bridge…” suddenly there was a massive explosion from above and the whole school roof was on fire Scott was standing next to the fire spirit who was absorbing the fire and as it absorbed the flames it grew to a huge size then it shrunk back to normal and back into Scott’s shadow Adam then turned round and started to say something but the spirit could already guess what he wanted to say and replied “ yes we can change our size at will, we can be as small as a mouse to as large as a skyscraper and all you have to do is ask, now lets sort out that building it said pushing a stilt back into place easily and then I pushed the whole building back into place and lifted Adam back onto the bridge.” Thanks” he said< no problem>came the reply. Adam and Scott walked off the bridge acting as though they were in shock but inside they knew that they were safe.

Chapter 13: things after
As the kids walked away from the school and back to the hotel they couldn’t help but feel a small sense of relief they had made it back alive. When they had entered the hotel again they were hugged by Adam’s parents who said they had heard the news about the school almost falling off the cliff and frightening several thousand students and parents who were worried that they were going to die or were already dead. But when they had found out that the School was stable and that the students were not going to fall into the sea and drown but that they had made it somehow back to land with unknown circumstancesand the school had been held back together with clay and lashes of vines bound together in a tight knot to hold it together and on closer inspection of the stilts found that the nails holding the stilts together had been welded in place by some source of extreme heat. But the most amazing thing was that pupils also recall seeing a student fall completely off the bridge and after the incident was over seeing him back on again after the building had been restabilised. The next day the kids awoke and got ready for school, they were almost out the door when Adam’s mother called them back saying “there’s no point in you lot leaving, there’s no school for you to go to” this took a few seconds to register in their heads but when It finally did Grace asked “why?” only for Adams mother to reply “ the supports in the building didn’t hold and the building slipped of the cliff during the night, teachers arrived next morning to find nothing but a few inches of the bridge left.” After the kids had remembered about the incident they had the previous day and how close they had become to the school falling off yesterday and drowning in the sea had it not been for the spirits and there resourcefulness in a crisis. But on the lighter side of things the school had gone and that meant that there was no more school until they either set up a new location or rebuilt the school. So it meant that they were in for a long holiday, until Adams mother gave them the bad news” oh and here’s the good news, all of your teachers have decided to set up a new school in one of the spare halls and will be staying for a long time…” (This news continues but its too awful for this author to type) the bad news resounded in a chorus of “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!” from all four of the kids and after that they then trailed back into the lift and took I back up stairs to the library and with Adam’s key opened the door to the restricted section and walked in locking the door behind him. They then sat down at a table to discuss their problems only for Adam to warn them to stay away from the metal gate and the door behind it. “Why?” asked Grace only for Adam to sigh and say “behind those door is a room which none of our staff ever go into, ever, and to insure that no one enters it we had the key melted down and the locks welded shut and it was all because of something that happened, oh it must be about 13 years ago now, that room in there was once used for demonic rituals in which they would summon the devil himself and attempt to make a pact with him, although many attempts failed, one day when we were all just little kids no older than 2 or 3 I had heard a noise coming from that room and a sound of deep, deep laughter and a woman screaming. I was so scared that I literally ran away from this library and I vowed never to come back to this room ever but the reason I bought us here is because something has stirred in that room, even now I can feel it’s presence it grows stronger the more we wait. That room has something going on in it and I don’t like it, I don’t like it at all….”Just then there was a scream from the locked room and the kids all jumped “there’s someone in there! we have to help her!, Adam where’s the key for that room, we have to get her out of there!” Adam very calmly sat her back down and said” I told you I don’t have the key for that place and that it was long destroyed, don’t worry about old Maggie Partridge she’ll stop eventually once `IT` has finished tormenting her ghost for the next 2 days and then she’ll start again. Maggie died long ago as one of the sacrifices to that thing in an attempt to tame it. Look” He got up and walked over to the door where on the wall next to it read `beware of the imprisoned within this room is hell itself `. “You see I will never allow anyone to open that door ever again, ever. But on the other hand what the hell let find a way to get inside and were in a library right I mean places like this are always full of holes.” And with that they split up looking for a way to get in. Grace was investigating in one corner when she suddenly stopped “whoa!” she said “there’s a real breeze from over here and every one rushed over, ” I cant feel anything” said Scott “maybe its because you have the wind element “ which seemed to be the best possible idea “lift me up” said Kirsty and there started the chain. Were Scott was standing on the floor and Adam was balancing on Scott and Grace was balancing on Adam and Kirsty was desperately scrabbling at one of the shelves desperately trying to reach the top but they could only make it to the halfway point.
