The Werewolf Tale 2: A Spirit's revengeEventually everyone dies…but some just can never rest.
8 DAYS TILL EQUINOX
‘We have a winner!’ Connor shouted into the megaphone as he pulled out a name at random from the tombola. The village fete was going better than he had expected. To think that it had nearly been a year since that terrible incident with the werewolves. But now to his relief, it was behind him and they only lost one villager last year. But since then there had been several new villagers moving in. As the fete was beginning to close God approached Connor ‘Hey, Connor, you do realise what next week is, right?’ he wondered. Connor paused.
‘The 25th of February, so what?’ he replied
‘So, last year on the 25th of February, that thing with the werewolves happened and I’m highly worried it will happen again this year, I don’t want to have to wear that horrid collar again.’ God stated worriedly. ‘Adam, as far as I know, nothing will happen this year.’ He said.
After the fete was over God was at home with Connor and one of the new villagers, Kirsty, had come round for a snack. ‘Hey, Adam. Did you record the Vicar of Dibley for Stacey?’ she wondered. God just nodded in reply. ‘It’s in the VCR, reception’s not the best but at least I managed to record it.’ He sighed. Kirsty pulled out the tape and placed it in her bag. Soon Kirsty was on the way back around Stacey’s where she dropped the tape off and headed home. Meanwhile Stacey slid the tape into her VCR and played it. At first it was just static and then in black and white the tape began to play, not the Vicar of Dibley, but something else. Stacey watched as images flickered onto the screen, a large plateau with a massive full moon in the background, a mine entrance labelled ‘Lupus mines’, a massive reservoir of water deep underground, the mines again, except the massive metal doors were creaking open and a bony hand slowly emerged and then static again. Frowning Stacey switched the TV off and went to bed. As she turned the lights off there was something etched onto the TV screen very slowly as if from the inside. ‘SYAD NEVES’
7 DAYS TILL EQUINOX
Connor sat down in his office in the town hall. He thought over the images of last year and how that incident could be prevented in future he stared out of the window at the villagers milling around below then he looked up at the cloudy sky. Then bizarrely he logged onto his computer and began to check the moon forecast for the next few days and on February 25th there was a full moon. ‘Can’t believe I just did that’ Connor sighed as he switched off the computer and leaned back in his chair, there had to be something else to do. He thought back to the library and dashed off. There was something he had to check. ‘Hey, Connor’ Manic Anihalation said when he arrived.
‘Hey, Jack…I need to look in the old library.’ Connor gasped.
‘Well, go on then, but Adam’s already down there.’ He replied. Connor walked down the creaky stairs to the old library and heard a crash. Running around the corner he saw God on a pile of books reaching on top of a bookshelf. With a crash he dislodged another pile and it fell to the floor. Smiling God jumped down with a huge book in his arms. ‘Found it’ he said. Walking towards a table he dropped the book on it. ‘OK…so this is one of the archive files from the village’s history.’ God said as he coughed on the dust. Slowly he opened the book and checked through its yellowing pages. ‘Hmm every day has a log except for one week a year, beginning on the 25th. But If I go to the front then…Ah! Here listen to this ‘February 25th 1562; we have discovered a horrible secret about our ruler, he is a wild beast, and even now as we hide here we can hear him, sniffing us out and howling at the moon. Many of us were already killed by him. I hope that we can survive this week before, he kills us. Christopher…such an odd name… an odd name for an odd person! When he transforms back we will burn him! Burn him as a witch!’ God read and he slammed the book shut. ‘So Christopher? Not exactly a common sixteenth century name is it. ’ he said raising an eyebrow before turning to the tapestries of the family trees that hung on a wall of the old library. ‘Christopher…Chris…’ God muttered as he checked the tapestries. ‘Oh…Christopher Crista… Gervauden’s son…the son of a god…would inherit the gene which means that every year he would turn into a werewolf and he also practiced Wicca meaning that that’s where we get out genes from!’ God exclaimed ‘this is amazing’ I have to tell the town’. Connor shook his head.
‘No because we have new people this year and if we go blurting out that we’re werewolves then they’ll chase us out of the village!’ he said. God looked like he had been struck by lightning.
‘So you believe that it will happen as well?’ he replied. Connor shook his head. ‘Sceptic’ God breathed.

6 DAYS TILL EQUINOX
Rurushu was busy working on the collars. He had the weirdest feeling that it would happen again this year and he was designing a more powerful explosive that would fit into it. It wasn’t going to be easy but he would get there eventually.
Meanwhile at Sniper Kitty’s house he was busy making more silver bullets and practicing karate, although doing both at the same time seemed to be beyond him. He was sure that, come the equinox he would be able to snap their lycan necks like twigs.
‘How long are we doing this for!?’ Connor complained as both he and God were sat on cushions in God’s house. God had managed to levitate a few inches off the floor but had come crashing back down when Connor complained. ‘Until you can still your thoughts’ God moaned as he picked himself up and sat back on the cushion. ‘Or until you bang your head on the roof, whichever one comes first.’ He sighed as he sat back down on the cushion and started to levitate again. Connor was finding this really dull. ‘It’s not helping’ he sighed as he opened his eyes to see that God and the cushion had gone. Suddenly he looked up to see God sitting on the cushion right near the roof. ‘I think you did it.’ Connor sighed as he climbed off his cushion. God floated down slowly until the cushion touched the ground. ‘That was relaxing.’ He said smiling. ‘Ok so levitation isn’t your thing…let’s try…Glamouring!’ he said as he pulled out the book on Glamouring and shut the book labelled ‘Levitation and flying’.
‘Right so…glamouring requires the user to imagine how they want to look.’ God said ‘watch closely’ he slowly swept his hand back through his black hair, which immediately turned blond. ‘Don’t forget that glamouring is just an illusion Connor.’ God said shaking his head and his hair turned back to black. Connor tried to imagine himself blond, but God rolled on the floor roaring with laughter as Connor’s nose grew longer. Connor looked angry as he pushed the glamoured nose back to its original length. ‘I’m sorry…Connor’ God giggled ‘But it was….ha…so huh…funny…. At least there are no more problems.’ He said as he calmed down. God got up and packed things away. Connor snickered at the fact that God had a wolf tail. At least he hoped that was a glamour.

5 DAYS TILL EQUINOX
Sir Leopold was busy cleaning his house when Connor popped around for a chat. ‘I’m neutral to the fact as if it will happen again or not…although I will admit it was exciting being chased by bloodthirsty werewolves’ Sir Leopold smiled ‘Although dying isn’t something I’d like to go through any time again soon. It was bad enough that I was just getting settled when I find myself being drawn back to this blasted village.’ He said frowning.
Rurushu smiled, he had finally created a new collar, now he just had to wait for a few more days, then he could test it out. He had the perfect test subjects in mind. Now he just had to wait four more days.
4 DAYS LATER…
1 DAY TILL EQUINOX
‘It’s not going to happen again!’ Connor yelled at God who had again mentioned the possible incident. ‘Oh and I suppose you’re going to stop it?’ God shouted back. Connor just shrugged and he ushered God out of the town hall. God looked up at the near full moon.
Meanwhile Stacey was enjoying a nice cup of tea when she noticed something odd about the TV. She had left it on again. Stacey got up and turned it off. She walked away and heard it come on again. Slowly she reached down and unplugged it. Turning away she gasped as it came on yet again. ‘Is this some kind of joke?’ she asked as she crouched down to see the massive full moon reflected in the TV. ‘Is someone messing about?!’ she called out. Stacey stared straight at the moon and screamed as a bony hand shot out and pulled her into the TV, which then shut off.
‘Connor it’s so late, why are you here?’ M.A. asked Connor as he walked into the library. As he walked in God walked out with a book in his arms and turned his nose up at Connor as he walked past. ‘What’s Adam got?’ Connor asked. M.A. shrugged.
‘Some book labelled “The Secret” or something.’ He replied.
God sat down at home and began to read the blurb on the back of the book ‘With the knowledge contained within this book you will discover that you can have anything you want.’ God smiled as he started to read the book.
1ST DAY OF EQUINOX 7:00PM
Connor looked up at the cloudy sky and for a split second caught sight of the full moon. It gave him a slight headache, so he walked into the town hall.
Kirsty was checking inside Stacey’s house, she hadn’t been here for days and she couldn’t have left because her stuff was still here. Kirsty wondered if it was something on the video that had made her want to see a film or something. Kirsty began to play the tape slowly she watched as the images appeared on the TV screen, when it was over Kirsty shrugged and put the video in her bag and left.
God was outside watering his cabbages, when the clouds above parted and he caught sight of the full moon, God stared at it for a second and then shaking his head rapidly to clear the bloodlust from his mind he ran back inside.

Connor was inside the town hall when he heard a hurried knocking at the door. Connor groaned as he walked out of his office and unlocked the door ‘Connor! Open the door! Hurry!’ Rurushu yelled and he fell into the town hall and slammed the door behind him. ‘Connor, it’s happening again!’ he yelled. Connor ran outside to see three werewolves standing outside the town hall. ‘I think we should go back inside.’ Connor whispered to Rurushu as he turned around.
‘It’s so beautiful…’ Rurushu sighed as he looked up at the moon. Connor gasped as he could see Rurushu’s eyes had turned a dark blood red. Connor ran back into the town hall as Rurushu began to sprout fur and fangs. ‘No, not again!’ Connor yelled as he slammed the door shut. ‘Don’t worry Connor, it won’t hurt’ said a familiar voice. Connor turned around there was a blue haze behind him. Connor screamed as it enshrouded him.
2 DAYS LATER…
3RD DAY OF EQUINOX 3:00 PM
‘Ok, we’ve received word from an Ms Joyce that her village is under attack by foul beasts, possibly a biohazard attack, now your job is to go in there and exterminate every last one of ‘em!’ General Sparrows yelled at his team. ‘But why do we have to wear these collars?’ A member wondered as he felt the metal collar around his neck and the various dark bumps on them. ‘I didn’t train you to ask questions! Now get out there and exterminate all of them!’ He yelled before he kicked open the doors to the van and the soldiers and out into the misty outskirts of the forest that surrounded the village where Ms Joyce had called from. As the team proceeded deeper into the forest, the mist grew thicker until all the sunlight had been blocked out. When the team reached the village it was deathly silent. Switching on their torches they carried on walking. The grass rustling gently beneath their feet. The houses were there, but all the lights had been switched off. ‘Must be a power failure.’ One of them whispered. Quietly they crept onwards unaware that they were being watched.
DAY 3 3:30 PM
Quickly the team found the house they were looking for. ‘Ms Joyce?’ One of them asked ‘We’re here to take you to safety’ One of them said knocking on the door. Inside there was the sound of sobbing. ‘…go away!’ a teenage girl cried out. ‘Sir, she’s not coming out, sounds terrified to death.’ One of the team members said into his radio…silence. ‘Sir?’ he wondered. Silence again.
‘hey, you, you over there!’ he shouted at a crouched figure a few feet away. ‘Can we help?’ he wondered drawing closer. Suddenly all the radios they had began to blast out white noise as well as a muffled voice. ‘…I….care……won’t tell…..’ said the voice in between blasts of static. The figure stood up. ‘oh what the-?’ asked one of the team as the figure emerged from the shadows. A werewolf. ‘Get back!’ yelled the only female team member. But it was too late for the soldier as the werewolf tore him to pieces and proceeded to chew his head off. ‘Only the insane would dare come here now…’ said a voice from behind them. Quickly they spun around weapons ready. There was a teenager of about 16 or 17. Looking really ill and had pale skin. But his hazel and green eyes still shone brightly. ‘Kirsty, you can let them in, they’re fine.’ He yelled and the door unlocked. ‘get in!’ Kirsty yelled as the werewolf drew closer. The female team member turned back to thank the boy…but he was gone. Soon the team hurried into the house and Kirsty slammed the door shut and barricaded it. ‘Ok…I have no clue what is happening to this village, but once this …mist comes, there is no way out, you’ll get lost and wander in circles. This village has a secret that won’t let you go, so for now…enjoy your stay ‘ she explained.

DAY 3 4:00 PM
Kirsty was in the kitchen chatting to Samantha the female team member. ‘Well I moved here a few months ago, when I found out that there was a house going I couldn’t resist it…god how I wish I changed my mind. ‘ she said. ‘Anyway…what’s with that collar?’ Samantha felt that collar around her neck. ‘I don’t know…’ she replied. Everyone jumped as there came a loud knock at the door. ‘Hello?’ Kirsty wondered.
‘It’s me! Let me in!’ General Sparrows’ voice echoed through the house. Samantha went to open the door but Kirsty dragged her back. ‘No! that’s not him! It’s a demon! They trick you into believing their lies and then when you open the door, the mist swarms in! taking heat and light from everything!’ Kirsty yelled.
‘I’m ordering you open this door now soldier! Sparrows’ voice demanded before becoming more desperate. ‘Please, let me in, there are strange creatures out here, please let me in!’
‘Ignore it!’ Kirsty yelled ‘It’s loosing power! ‘
‘Let me in!!!’ Sparrows’ voice demanded pounding the door desperately before a demonic roar echoed through the night and then…silence. ‘It’s gone, for now’ Kirsty sighed as she collapsed into a chair. ‘Those werewolves, they have to stay in the mist…don’t know why, at least I hope they have to, now this house is devoid of that mist due to all the heat and light in here. So it tries to force it’s way in, desperately. We ignore it and it goes away. But talking to it gives it strength.’ Kirsty explained and there was another knock at the door. ‘Hello?’ Kirsty wondered.
DAY 3 5:00PM
‘Hello?’ Kirsty wondered for the 6th time as she rocked back and forth in her rocking chair, cradling a shotgun. ‘Kirsty…let me in…BOLONGA!’ God’s voice yelled. Kirsty stopped rocking and opened the door, God walked in. ‘How did you know?’ Samantha wondered.
‘Only Adam could say something that random.’ She sighed as she slammed the door, shut. Next to the fireplace God looked a lot healthier, his pale skin glowed from the fire. ‘This whole village is a mess, I told Connor, and I told him this would happen again this year- hey Kirsty! Where’d you get the shotgun from?’ God wondered. Kirsty just shook her head. ‘Anyway, you lot are going to be fine, you too Kirsty, you’re an outsider, no offence, but if I get bitten or even scratched by one of them…then… I get infected …a few hours later…I’ll be one of them.’ He said . God turned around as a loud bang shook the house. ‘There goes your chimney…’ God sighed ‘They’re trying to get in through the roof now, burn if they try to get down the chimney. God stood up. ‘Well we can’t stay here forever , they’re going to get in eventually…’ God walked up to the door and taking a lantern off the side he quickly opened the door, dived outside and slammed it shut. ‘Kirsty gasped as it began to get darker, the fire was going out. ‘Quick! Throw something in there!’ She exclaimed.
‘What?’ Samantha wondered.
‘I don’t know! Books, boxes, paper, clothes, bras…anything! We can’t let it go out!’ Kirsty panicked. Kirsty was desperately trying to coax the fire back into it’s burning state, but to no avail the fire spluttered and died. The cold hit them like ice winds mist began to creep under the doors and through the windows. With a crash a window shattered and a lycan jumped in. ‘Out!’ Kirsty yelled as the radios blasted out white noise. ‘Once…year…seven ..ays…’ the radio emitted as they ran out.
